The Sunshine Radio Control Auto Racers
Were at the Branford RC Speedway November 4, 2000.


I would like to Thank Justin for taking most of the pictures taken at the track today. He is the little guy on the left here and the driver of the #11 car. That smile on his face is why I work so hard to include my kids in what I do. (That picture was his idea and not only that but he took it).

We had a Great day of Racing. We ran many laps running 1/10 scale and 1/4 scale cars and trucks on the banked concrete oval. There was lots of door to door and bumper to bumper racing action. We were very happy with the track. It is small (14' wide and a 320' center line) There was some close racing and the quarter scale cars stuck to the track very well. Well, most did we had one get on its top! hehehe It was noted by many drivers that the track was great for some tight racing. You could run hard and drift thru the corner because of the banking. The odd thing was no one changed setup to run the banked concrete track. We all could run hard and the cars stuck. Gearing of choice was 12 X 78. It proved to be a GREAT day even though the track was new to most of the guys there. I have been racing 1/10 scale at this track for the last 13 years but never with a 1/4 scale running hard like we did today. Special Thanks to Scott Peterson for allowing the Sunshine Bandit's the use of the track all day. We will be back to do more door to door fender to fender racing very soon. I myself cant wait to go rubbing fenders again on the Banked concrete oval.
